Support Coordination is available through our coordinator Toree, based in Wagga Wagga, and state-wide service.
Hi, my name is Toree Arcidiacono, I am Blacksheep’s new Support Coordinator and Client Educator. I am a mum of three children, two of whom have additional needs—with my personal experience with the NDIS system, reading and making NDIS goals for my own children. I also have 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, which began my drive to develop cohesive and inclusive programs for children with additional needs.
When offered the role of Client Educator at Blacksheep I was thrilled to take on the challenge and make a difference with some of the most vulnerable people we have in the community.
Not long after becoming the Client Educator, I was asked to be Blacksheep’s Support Coordinator. This role is very similar to the Client Educator role, however, it will allow me to create more personalized care for clients in ways that are tailored to them and their personalized needs.
Becoming a Support Coordinator means that I will provide person-centred support for clients with disabilities. This may entail a range of support that encourage the client’s ability and implementation of their NDIS plan. I will be supporting them in creating their goals based on what outcomes they would like to achieve their aspirations and goals to them individually.
As a Support Coordinator, I will be working collaboratively with the Blacksheep Care Services team members and providers within the community. By having this open dialogue with these people, I will be able to find providers that will be able to achieve the goals made for the client on the NDIS plan.
Taking on this role, I will be gaining more knowledge of the NDIS system where I will be undertaking a Support Coordination course, this will give me more information about my new role and the expectations that will be required of me.
While I develop my skills and knowledge of becoming a Support Coordinator, I will be developing myself within the workplace not only in this role but also as a Blacksheep Care Services Client Educator.
